General Electrical safety. Should it become necessary to carry out further work in addition to any planned work to ensure the continued safe use of the electrical installation, the customer will be advised of any remedial work required. A separate quotation for the extra work would be submitted to the customer and, with the customer's approval, the work carried out. For reasons of electrical safety, it may be necessary in certain circumstances to suspend work until remedial works have been carried out.
Making-good etc. Whilst every care will be taken, Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd accepts no responsibility for any necessary damage caused to the fabric of the building. Preliminary making-good will be carried out if required including the re-laying of flooring and floor coverings. Professional redecoration and re-laying of special floors or floor coverings is outside the scope of any work undertaken by Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd.
Cleaning and site clearance. The work area will be kept as tidy as is reasonably possible throughout the duration of any work and cleaned at the end of each working day. Any refuse, (rubble, redundant equipment, etc.) will be left in appropriate refuse sacks for disposal by the client unless any prior agreement has been made regarding the disposal of such refuse.
Works carried out. Where the date and/or time for works to be carried out is agreed by the Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd with the Customer, then Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall use its best endeavours to ensure that the operative shall attend on the date and at the time agreed. However, Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd accepts no liability in respect of the non attendance or late attendance on site of the operative/engineer or for the late or non-delivery of materials. If the Customer cancels their instructions prior to any work being carried out or materials supplied then the Customer shall be liable for any related expenditure made by Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd.
If, after Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd shall have carried out the works, the Customer is not wholly satisfied with the works then the Customer shall give notice in writing within 30 days to Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd and shall afford Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd, and its insurers, the opportunity of both inspecting such works, and carrying out any necessary remedial works if appropriate. The Customer accepts that if he fails to notify Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd as aforesaid then Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall not be liable in respect of any defects in the works carried out.
Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall not be liable for any delay or for the consequences of any delay in performing any of its obligations if such delay is due to any cause whatsoever beyond its reasonable control and Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of the time for performing such obligations.
Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd shall only be liable for rectifying works completed by Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd and shall not be held responsible for ensuing damage or claims resulting from this or other work overlooked or subsequently requested and not undertaken at that time.
The Guarantee shall be for labour only in respect of faulty workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion with the manufacturers warranty in force. The Guarantee will become null and void if the work/appliance completed/supplied by Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd is:
(i) Subject to misuse or negligence.
(ii) Repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than a Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd operative. Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability of, materials supplied by the Customer and will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.
Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd will not guarantee any work undertaken on instruction from the customer and against the written or verbal advice of the operative/engineer.
Work is guaranteed only in respect of work directly undertaken by Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd where payment in full has been made. Any non-related faults arising from recommended work which has not been undertaken by the company will not be guaranteed.
Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd shall not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect resulting from work not fully guaranteed or where recommended work has not been carried out. Work will not carry a guarantee where the customer has been notified by the operative verbally of any other related work which requires attention.
The customer shall be solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect of Warning Notice issued by Northumberland electrical Solutions Ltd.
Basis of charges. The charge shall be based on a written estimate of time and materials basis calculated on current rates and prices set out by Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd.
This estimate may be revised in the following circumstances:—
(i) if after submission of the estimate the Customer instructs Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd (whether verbally or in writing) to carry out additional works not referred to in the estimate.
(ii) if after submission of the estimate there is an increase in the price of materials.
(iii) if after submission of the estimate it is discovered that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the estimate was prepared.
(iv) if after submission of the estimate it is discovered that there was a manifest error when the estimate was prepared.
Charging period. Rates are charged in one hour increments with a minimum charge of one hour. Part-hours are chargeable as a full hour's rate.
Hourly Work Rate. The total charge to the Customer shall consist of the cost of materials supplied by Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd and the amount of time spent by the operative in carrying out works (including all reasonable time spent in obtaining un-stocked materials) charged in accordance with Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd current hourly rates. All charges are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate except in cases where the work carried out is zero rated.
All materials and parts supplied shall remain the property of Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd until full payment has been received for the work carried out.
Advance payments. Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall reserve the right to require a deposit to be paid before commencement of work.
Full payment shall be due immediately on completion of work as will be clearly stated on your incoice.
Overdue accounts. Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall reserve the right to employ the services of solicitors and/or debt collection agencies complying with legal obligations where appropriate to recover unpaid debts. Costs incurred in recovering monies owed will be chargeable to the debtor. Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd shall reserve the right to remove any equipment deemed to be the property of Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd at any time should payment for work carried out become overdue.

Acceptance of terms and conditions
Instruction to commence work. Any instruction given to Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd to proceed with work, either in writing or verbally, will be taken as acceptance of the above Terms and Conditions of Business. These terms and conditions and all contracts awarded between Northumberland Electrical Solutions Ltd and Customer shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English law.
